Busting generic styles and pigeonholes since 2002, the Moonbootica outfit was born after Hamburg natives Oliver Kowalski (KoweSix) and Tobias Schmidt (Tobitob) found themselves cornered in a gridlocked continuum of sounds they couldn’t really relate to. Opening up the scope to all boogie-relevant genres – from afro-house to disco, via hip-hop, funk soul and techno – and grinding them into one hot, fun-loving elixir for your ears to wrap around, the pair has piled up choice transmissions of jacking, all-round infectious grooves tailored to whip up a frenzy amongst ravers, mainly through their own dedicated imprint, Moonbootique, which continues to provide the wares with absolute poise and élan twenty years on.
